ABOUT US
We are a 100%
New Zealand family-owned accommodation and offer a unique new zealand
homestay experience. We endeavour to be environmentally friendly
to enhance our environment and to support our local community.

Your hosts
are local to the Waitakere area and are members of groups such as
Piha Residents and Ratepayers Assoc, and the Piha Surf
Life saving Club. Geoff is also a local Builder, Life Saver
and Surfer.
Only
"eco-friendly" products such as ecostore laundry and cleaning
products and other bio-degradable products are used and all glass
and plastic bottles and containers are recycled.
All water used
is rainwater collected from the roof and wastewater is disposed
of with a professionally maintained on-site treatment plant.
NATIVE
PLANT RESTORATION PROJECT
On the property
we are currently implementing a restoration project on the streambanks
removing all noxious weeds and replacing with native plants.
We received
an Auckland Regional Council EIF grant to assist with this project
and we are also participating in the Waitakere City Council "Green
Network" program.
This work was
undertaken in August 2005. These photos show the riverbanks after
being cleared of all scrub, grass and weeds and the new planting
in 2005 and now in 2008.
